WebWork series - Intro
There are many businesses in the world and most of them in very defined niches - some provide services like auditing firms, administrative consultants, law firms, and so on; some provide goods like retail stores, carpentry shops.
Whatever they offer, we are finding out that the web is changing the way they provide their goods and services to their customers.
On one hand is a group of people who have giant conglomerates and companies that carry out their businesses the traditional way [with little or no input from technology]. Now, on the other hand is a group of people in each niche, who are small business owners that are still providing their goods and services the traditional way, which is all well and good but it costs a lot of money to facilitate most of the time. The traditional way also uses a lot of man power to execute.
Where the Web comes in: In recent times, brilliant people have been able to enhance technology in a way that makes running businesses a lot more easier to do = and most of the leaps and bounds in this technology is tied to the web! Now, through the Internet, many services can be provided for millions of businesses, that makes the managers' lives easier, and business brisk, not to mention profits increase.
Our WebWork series will focus on how the Web and technology makes a particular niche a lot more successful. We will try to cover as many niches as possible, and provide more links to other articles that might be of help to interested parties.
